Welcome to Drake Elementary School

Welcome to Drake Elementary School!  Our staff is dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences that best meet our students’ needs and abilities. Drake serves roughly 400 students in kindergarten through sixth grade.  Over the past two years, improvements have been made to our building due to the $81 million construction and renovation bond project.  These improvements include enhanced building security, enhanced technology, Chromebook carts as well as other infrastructure improvements.

All of our elementary school students receive instruction in the core academic areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Additionally, students receive encore instruction in the areas of art, music, physical education, library and technology.  Starting in fifth grade, interested students are able to participate in our instrumental program and participate in the band or orchestra.

In addition to our excellent academic program, we have a variety of extra- and co-curricular activities that our elementary students enjoy. These extra- and co-curricular activities include band, choir, orchestra, jump rope club and student council.

As a learning community, we believe we have a profound impact on each student’s life and provide a positive role model for students.  Our impact is enhanced through the establishment of a positive working partnership with our parents and guardians.  We look forward to establishing this positive working relationship with our Drake community and having a successful school year.
