Olmsted Falls John SandersThe Girls Track Team participated in the Olmsted Falls Invitiational. Although team scores are not kept, the girls turned in some outstanding performances. The 4x100 Relay Team of Erin Peskura, Miranda Peck, Tati Sedlak, and Emily Ciborek placed 1st. Also placing 1st was Kristen Janda in the 300 Meter Hurdles. Turning in some nice performances were Erin Peskura, 2nd in the 100 Meter Dash, Tati Sedlak, 2nd in the High Jump, Grace Mahovlich, 2nd in the Shot Put and Discus Throws, and Emily Ciborek, 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash. Other contributors were Emili Grendze, 3rd in the Discus, Kristen Janda, 3rd in the High Jump, Miranda Peck, 3rd in the 100 Meter Dash, Natalie Camardo, 3rd in the Mile, Joy Schaeffer, 3rd in the 2 Mile Run, and the 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Emily Ciborek, Kristen Janda, Laurel Foell, and Libby Erdealc who were also 3rd.
Results:
Last night at SHS the Lady Mustangs lost to Mentor 92-42. The day started out warm from the sun and some performances were turned in early with day still being young. Grace Mahovlich 1st in the discus and 2nd in the shot put, our 4 x 200 relay team of Emily Cibroek, Tatiana Sedlak, Kristen Janda and Erin Peskura finished first with a time of 1.51.1 . Erin Chips 13.0, Lizzie Ehrnfelt 13.3, Miranda Peck 13.4 swept the 100m dash. Erin Chips also finished 2nd in the long jump. Grace Lee 16.9, Jena Minnick 17.1 were 1st and 2nd in the 100m hurdles, Lizzie Ehrnfelt 5'1", Tatiana Sedlak 5'0" were 2nd and third in the high jump.
Laurel Foell 65.1, 3rd in the 400m dash, Jenny Cook 2:39 in the 800m 3rd and Kristen Janda 50.2 in the 300m low hurdles 3rd. Erin Peskura 27.1, Emily Ciborek 27.1 were 2nd and 3rd in the 200m dash. We had some very good performances and are looking forward to Saturday at Lexington.
Lexington Stats with totals and Points so far...
The Girls Track Team completed this past Saturday at Lexington and finished 7th out of 16 teams. Turning in some outstanding performances were the Girls 4X100 Team of Lizzie Ehrnfelt, Miranda Peck, Erin Chips, and Erin Peskura whose time of 51.56 earned 2nd place. The 4X200 Team of Emily Ciborek, Tati Sedlak, Kristen Janda, and Erin Peskura ran a time of 1:50.43 earning 3rd place. Other contributors included the 4x100 Shuttle Hurdle team of Jenna Minnick, Emily Greywacz, Miranda Peck, and Lauren Synk who won 3rd place, Tati Sedlak, 3rd in the High Jump, Erin Peskura, 3rd in the 200, and Lizzie Ehrnfelt, 4th in the High Jump.
Twinsburg Dual Meet
The Girls Track and Field Team competed on Friday, April 13th at the Willoughby South Invitational. While Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some it is just right for us, as there were some outstanding team and individual efforts on the day and evening. The girls team scored 100 Points and finished the field in 3rd place. New PR's were turned in by Junior, Sarah Torok, who ran a 5:20 in the 1600 Meters setting a new PR by 13 seconds. Junior, Natalie Camardo, also set a new PR in the 3200 Meters by running a 11:50 and shaving 17 seconds off her time. Sophomore, Joy Schaeffer, also ran in the 3200 meters and set a new PR by :04 seconds in running a 12:06. Other girls contributing with their efforts were Senior, Erin Peskura, who finished 3rd in the 100, 200 meter dashes and was part of the 3rd place 4X200 Relay team along with Emily Ciborek, Tati Sedlak, and Kristen Janda. Tati Sedlak placed 3rd in the High Jump with a jump of 5'0. Some other key contributors were Grace Mahovlich who placed 2nd in the Discus and 6th in the shot put, Emili Grendze, who placed 4th in the Discus, and Emily Ciborek who placed 4th in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes.
Brunswick Dual Meet Results: 4/18/12
Stow Reinhart Relays:
The girls participated in the Stow Relays this past weekend and finished 4th out of 16 teams. Running and competing in less than ideal conditions, the girls track team found a way to run some respectful times and finishes. Outstanding performances including the 4X100 Relay team of Erin Peskura, Emily Ciborek, Erin Chips, and Lizzie Ehrnfelt, whose time of 52.1 earned 3rd place. The Shuttle Hurdles team of Jenna Minnick, Lauren Synk, Lyndsey Pritchard, and Grace Lee earned a 4th place mark. Also, the shot put relay of Grace Mahovlich, Niki Taylor, and Emili Grendze earned 3rd place with their throws. The rest of the results can be seen on the link below.
Solon Dual Meet Results 4/25/12
Berea Night Relays: The girls turned in a solid performance by finishing 3rd in a field of 15 teams last night. Turning in 1st place finishes were the Girls High Jump relay of Tati Sedlak, Kristen Janda, and Elizabeth Clifford with a combined jump of 14'0". Also placing 1st was the Shuttle Hurdles Relay Team of Grace Lee, Lauren Synk, Emily Greywacz, and Jenna Minnick who ran a :67.2 in capturing their 1st place finish. The Girls Long Jump Relay finished 2nd with a combined jump of 45' 3.5". Leading the way was Erin Chips, Miranda Peck, and Lindsey Pritchard. Placing 3rd on the evening were Natalie Camardo in the 3200 Meters with a time of 11:43, the 4x100 Relay Team of Emily Ciborek, Miranda Peck, Erin Chips, and Erin Peskura with a time of 51:15, and the 4X200 Team of Emily Ciborek, Tati Sedlak, Kristen Janda, and Erin Peskura who ran 1:50. Both the Shot and Discus Relay Teams of Grace Mahovlich, Emili Grendze, and Niki Taylor captured 3rd place finishes in their respective throwing events. The girsl return to action Wednesday, May 2nd, when they travel to Medina for a Dual Meet.

The Strongsville JV Invitational, May 4, 2012-
The Girls JV team competed in the Inagural Strongsville JV Meet and came away with a victory. The girls scored 115 points to capture the team title. A number of impressive results were turned in by the Lady Mustangs. Sophomore, Laurel Foell, ran a 2:29 in winning the 800 Meter Race. Other outstanding performances included Freshman Kerri Yarber who won the Shot Put with a throw of 29' 7", Freshman Erin Chips who was second in the long jump, first in the 100 Meter Dash, and a member of the 1st place 4x100 team along with Miranda Peck, Lizzie Ehrnfelt, and Lindsey Pritchard. Other 1st place finishes were Miranda Peck in both the pole vault and long jump, Grace Lee, 1st in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Libby Erdelac, 1st place in the 1600 Meter Run, and Lindsey Pritchard, 1st place in the 200 meter Dash, and Emily Greywacz who was 1st in the 300 meter hurdles, and Lizzie Ehrnfelt, who was 1st in the High Jump. It was a very exciting evening of racing and competing at Strongsville HIgh School.

The NOC Conference Meet Results: May 9, 2012
The Amherst Districts: May 16 & 18, 2012
Congratulations to the Girls 4x100 Relay Team of Emily Ciborek, Miranda Peck, Erin Chips, and Erin Peskura, who broke the school record in the Girls 4x100 Finals at the Amherst District. The relay team ran a 49:59 besting the previous school record of 50:03 which had stood since 2003. The Girls Relay team finished 5th in the District but did not qualify to the Regional Meet since relays and individuals must be in the Top 4 to Qualify. However, the Girls Relay team did beat every time at the Lakewood District and many other qualifying times at the other 2 Toledo Districts. We are so proud of their amazing accomplishment and they will soon see their names on the Catan Stadium Record Board. Congratulations Girls!!!
The following Relays and Individuals qualified to the Regional Meet at Amherst next week. Tati Sedlak, high jumped, 5'0 to finish in 4th place and qualify to the Regional Meet. This will be her first Regional Meet, Congratulations Tati on your accomplishment and continuing to uphold the great tradition of high jumpers that we have seen come through Strongsville High School Track and Field. Erin Chips, long jumped, 16' 7.50" to finish 4th and qualify to the Regional Meet. She becomes the first Freshman to qualify in the Long Jump to the Regionals in many years at Strongsville. Erin's jump was also a Personal Best jump, besting the next competitor by only .50 inches. Fabulous work, Erin! Finally, the Girls 4x200 ran a personal best time of 1:46:45 to finish 4th and qualify to the Regionals. The team of Emily Ciborek, Tati Sedlak, Kristen Janda, and Erin Peskura will represent Strongsville next week at the Regional Meet. This was an incredible accomplishment for these girls when you consider their previous best mark was 1:48:98. Their race was a testimony to hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering believe in themselves and their abilities to find greatness in a critical situation. Awesome!
