PROCRASTINATORS CLUB

The Procrastinators' Club will be meeting in room 711 on Tuesday September 18 at around 2:30 or so.  We will talk about all of the unfinished business from last year and the community service projects we started. If you would like to come, then bring a friend and a list of ideas of stuff you would like to work on.

HOMECOMING COURT

Congratulations to the following ladies on being chosen by their classmates to represent them on Strongsville High School's 2012 Homecoming Court: Cassie Arsenault, Sarah Meter, Rachel Wells, Melissa Wilson, and Hannah Zablotney.

 

URBAN CULTURE

The African-American Club has been re-named Urban Culture!  Come and be part of our new club and help plan its future goals and activities.  First meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2:30, room 712.  Everyone is welcome!  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Bedrossian.

 

HOMECOMING DANCE

This year's Homecoming Dance, a Masquerade Ball, will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, from 7-10 PM, and tickets cost $15 each. Tickets sales begin on Thursday, September 13, in all lunch periods and run through Thursday, September 20th. Tickets can purchased by check or money order only, and checks should be made out to Strongsville High School. Students receive one domino half-mask per ticket purchase -- pick out your mask when you buy your ticket! Breathalyzer tests will be administered to all students upon entrance to the dance, and there is no entrance after 8 PM. Guest forms for non-SHS students attending the dance are available in the Main Office, and a completed guest form and a photocopy of a picture ID must be turned in at the time of purchase. GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

To all girls interested in playing basketball:

"Open Gym, agility & weight training will begin Monday, September 17th & continue every Monday & Wednesday until October 24th."

Open gym will be from 2:45 - 4:15 in the Aux II gym.

Agility & weight training will go from 4:15 - 5:15 in the weight room.

Any questions see coach Eicher or coach Cicerchi.

 

FREETHINKERS CLUB

Do you sometimes question the aspects of the world around you?  Do you find yourself being skeptical of many tenets of our society? Would you like to hang out after school with other people who may (or may not) question the world as well.  If so, come to the Freethinkers' Club meeting on Wednesday September 19th in room 709.  Come for the fun and comraderie. Bring a friend for double the fun. Bring someone who doesn't think like you for pi times the fun!

ANIME CLUB

The next anime club meeting will be on Monday September 24th in room 802. We will be discussing the t-shirt design and be watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Please try to be on time and we hope to see you there.

 

SPANISH STUDENTS / TRIP TO SPAIN

Would you like to go to Spain?  Do you want to visit castles, cathedrals, and the Mediterranean?  There is a trip planned to Spain in June this year, open to all Spanish students. 

If you are interested bring your parents and attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, 7:00, in the Distance Learning Lab.

BUSINESS CLUB

Have you ever thought about starting your own business? Do you want to be your own boss? Then come to the BUSINESS CLUB meeting on Tuesday, September 18th after school in Room 102.

This year, the BUSINESS CLUB will work with Junior Achievement to start an actual PUBLIC CORPORATION.  Last year, each stockholder earned a profit based off of their original $2.00 investment.

Let's make this year's company even better than last years! The BUSINESS CLUB will meet twice a month all school year.

All entrepreneurial students are welcome to attend! This is a great opportunity to see just what it takes to open up your own business.

ITALIAN CLUB

Ciao Bella,

This weeks Italian Club meeting has been moved to September 20th. We will meet in room 820 to elect officers for the new year. There will be FOOD...Come for the Pizza, Stay for the cool people.

Remember that there is no meeting this week. It is now next week, Sept 20, in room 820. If you want to run for a position please come prepared with a Very SHORT speech. See Mr. Attill for details.

HOMECOMING WEEK

Next Monday, September 17, kicks off our Homecoming week! Show your school spirit all week long and dress up for Spirit Days!

Themes are as follows:

Monday -- Hawaiian luau day

Tuesday -- safari day

Wednesday -- extreme weather day

Thursday -- 9th & 10th graders, 60s & 70s / 11th & 12th graders, 80s & 90s

Friday -- class colors, yellow/gold for 9th graders, black for 10th graders, white for 11th graders, and green for 12th graders.

All dress MUST be school appropriate; failure to dress in a school-appropriate manner will result in disciplinary action as per the Student Handbook.
