Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Staff Development
 Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year and all of the excitement that a new year has to offer. This sense of excitement is not only there for our students, but for our teachers, staff and our entire administrative team. It is a privilege to return to the Strongsville City School District and the Strongsville community as your Assistant Superintendent.
  As the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Staff Development, some of my responsibilities include:
  • Coordinator for the Resident Educator Program
  • Hearing officer for suspension appeals
  • Overseeing the evaluation process for all employees
  • Professional development of all employees in conjunction with the Curriculum Department
  • Recruitment and hiring process for all personnel
  • Working collaboratively with District and Union Leadership on collective bargaining agreements

  With regard to my background in education, after graduating from Garfield Heights High School, I attended The Ohio State University and earned a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Studies) degree, as well as a Master of Education (Elementary Education) degree.  I am currently completing my Doctoral Dissertation at the University of Akron in the Educational Foundations and Leadership program, which is focused on the use of classroom data in the instructional decision-making process.

 

 Prior to my current position, I began my career in education as a fourth grade teacher for the Twinsburg City Schools.  After moving into administration in 2003, I spent seven years as an administrator for the Strongsville City Schools as an Assistant Principal at Albion Middle School, as well as Principal at both Muraski Elementary School and Center Middle School.  For two years I served in the Copley-Fairlawn City School District as the Principal of Copley High School.  In addition, I have also served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Akron teaching in their Educational Foundations and Leadership program.

 

 I am a passionate and dedicated educator that will always work for what is in the best interest of our students.  It is my experience that this work is best done with a supportive and collaborative relationship between the district, parents and community.  Therefore, I look forward to working with you throughout this and future school years to build upon Strongsville’s tradition of excellence.  I believe by working together, there is no end to what can be accomplished.
