Welcome to Albion Middle School. We are proud of our academic and extra curricular programs that are offered as we continually focus on the success of every student. The learning process is designed to offer an assortment of activities that are engaging so that all students experience growth or achievement as they strive for academic excellence. A challenging curriculum, meaningful instruction, and an assortment of learning experiences help to meet the diverse needs of our students. Through the continued support of the Board of Education, administration, faculty, and families, we are able to provide a program that challenges and promotes student learning on a daily basis.
Both the 7th and 8th grade students who attend Albion receive instruction in the curricular areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Additionally, students are able to select from an assortment of courses throughout their two years of middle school. Elective classes in Vocal or Instrumental Music, Art, Technology Applications, and Family/Consumer Science all play a prominent role in rounding out each student’s class schedule.
Students are encouraged and welcomed to participate in any of our wonderful extra-curricular activities that are offered at Albion Middle School. Ski Club, Student Council, Power of the Pen, Morning Announcements, and Albion Ambassadors highlight some of these terrific programs. Each extra-curricular activity provides all students with an opportunity to become involved with their school community while developing new skills or interests.
Our staff, comprised of 60 full-time and part-time personnel, is dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences that best meet students’ needs and abilities. Students are assigned to grade level teams helping to create a strong bond between the classroom teacher and themselves. Within these teams, teachers use their understanding of their subject matter and the Ohio Academic Content Standards to work collaboratively to develop activities across multiple subject areas that are designed to enhance the classroom experience.
