The Mavericks Go Medieval For A Day!
On Friday, January 25 the Mavericks students celebrated life in medieval Europe. Their Maverick team teachers all taught lessons that day that focused on life in the middle ages. During their lessons a medieval knight and lady came to each classroom to share with our pupils what it was like to live in the 14th century. In the afternoon our Maverick team had the unique opportunity to be educated and entertained by Mr. Rick Slavik and his associates from The Knights of the Society for Creative Anachronism. They came to our school dressed in their medieval armor and bringing with them their swords, shields and helmets. They proceeded to do battle with one another as well as entertain students' questions. Our Maverick scholars had quite the historical experience!
