February News:
Mrs. Sharkus's Language Arts Classes:
We are continuing with our units on the Holocaust and World War II. We've been reading about Hitler and his motives. The honors class is reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas which is a historical fiction piece that is set during World War II and the Holocaust. All classes will be viewing the movie based on the novel on Friday, February 22.
Mr. Misencik’s Mathematics Classes
Pre-Algebra: The classes will be learning about linear functions and graphing. Remember each student has an on-line textbook account that is a value resource.
Algebra: The class will be learning about exponents and polynomials and factoring polynomials.
Math Humor:
Last month: "Why did the math student wear two pairs of sunglasses?"
Answer: "He wanted to have overlapping shades"
This month:"What did the two binomials say when they were multiplied again?"
Mr. Camp's American History Class:

We are now back in Health for the 3rd quarter. Classes just finished up our Nutrition Unit by watching the movie "Supersize Me". The students developed a better understanding of the dangers of eating a diet high in fat and sugar and how that type of diet can have serious negative consequences on their overall total health. We are now in the middle of our Human Sexuality unit. We began by discussing the reproductive system and this week Operation Keepsake will be with us discussing abstinence and the importance of saving sex until marriage. We will wrap up this quarter with our drug unit and the students completing a research project and presenting their findings to their classmates.
