  • Northeast Ohiol Science and Engineering Fair (NEOSEF)

    The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, annually provides a forum for more than 1,500 high school students from over 40 countries to showcase their independent research. The Intel ISEF is the premiere science competition in the world exclusively for students in grades 9–12.
     
    Each year, millions of students worldwide compete in local and school-sponsored science fairs; the winners of these events go on to participate in Intel ISEF-affiliated regional and state fairs from which the best win the opportunity to attend the Intel ISEF. The Intel ISEF unites these top young scientific minds, showcasing their talent on an international stage, enabling them to submit their work to judging by doctoral level scientists—and providing the opportunity to compete for nearly $4 million in prizes and scholarships.

  • Western Reserve Science Days

    This is another opportunity for you to obtain opportunities and experiences that one would not normally receive in a high school curriculum.  You have the opportunity to plan, develop, and implement a scientific research project and present this project to leaders in the scientific community!  You will meet many leaders in the scientific community, as well as compete for scholarships, travel opportunities, and possible contacts/mentors in the scientific areas in which you are interested.

  • Intel Science Talent Search

    Each spring, 40 finalists are selected from a nationwide pool of thousands to attend the week-long Science Talent Institute in Washington, D.C. There, students have the opportunity to present their research projects to the general public and members of the scientific community at the National Academy of Sciences, meet with distinguished government leaders and participate in a rigorous judging process. Over $1 million is awarded annually to Intel STS participants and their schools. Awards range from $5,000 scholarship grants and laptop computers for all finalists to the grand prize of a $100,000 college scholarship.

  • Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology

    The Siemens Foundation provides over $4.5 million towards science, technology, engineering and math initiatives annually.  Its signature programs, the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology and the Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement, reward exceptional achievement in science, math and technology. By supporting outstanding students today, and recognizing the teachers and schools that inspire their excellence, the Foundation helps nurture tomorrow's scientists and engineers.

  • Ohio Junior Science and Humanities Symposium

    Research Paper and Poster project competition sponsored by the Northwest Ohio Center of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (NWO) and The School of Teaching and Learning at Bowling Green State University.  In cooperation with The Academy of Applied Science and with the support of the Departments of Army, Navy, and Air Force.  Scholarships and Awards are available.

  • Toshiba - Exploravision (Groups of 2-4 students)

    Toshiba and the National Science Teachers Association invite studetns to share their creative thinking by competing in the ExploraVision Awards Program.  Up to $240,000 in saving bonds will be awarded to students this year for the most innovative ideas that combine imagination with the tools of science.  Many other awards are also possible.
         1.  Organize a team of 2-4 students - Simulating real research and development teams.
         2.  Teams select and explore a technology and imagine what it could be like in 20 years.
         3.  Submit entry describing invention or innovation that applies the tools of science, creative thinking and problem solving.

  • Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition

    Epidemiologists study populations, find patterns, and solve health problems.  Their work makes headlines and saves lives.  This competition is looking for Juniors/Seniors who aspire to make a difference.
     
    Students are asked to submit a research report that sheds light on a health-related issue.  By doing what epidemiologists do, students can win a scholarship worth up to $50,000.  This competition is awarding total scholarships near $500,000.

  • eCYBERMISSION Competition

    A free, web-based science, math and technology competition for students in grades six through nine.  Teams identify a problem in their community related to one of four Mission Challenges:  Health and Safety, Arts and Entertainment, Sports and Recreation or the Environment.  Up to $8,000 in U.S. EE Savings Bonds available.  Sponsored by the U.S. Army
