INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES INTERESTED IN REGISTERING INCOMING KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS FOR 2023-2024

Important Documents and Links for Families Interested In Registering Incoming Kindergarten Students 

Please note that Kindergarten is mandatory in Ohio. According to State Law and District policy, any child who becomes five years old on or before August 1, 2023 is eligible for admission into the Strongsville City School's Kindergarten program this August. If a child turns five after August 1, 2023  but before January 1, 2024 and there is interest in having them screened/tested for possible early entrance to Kindergarten, do not enroll the child in the district at this time. Call 440.572.7015 for further information about early entrance.

For Full Day Kindergarten

  • Complete the Full Day Kindergarten Request Form (accessible at 8:00am on Thursday 1/12/23).  This form lets the district know you are interested in Full Day Kindergarten.  IT DOES NOT REGISTER YOUR STUDENT FOR SCHOOL.

  • After submitting your Full Day Kindergarten Request Form, click HERE to pay your $300 deposit (link will be activated at 8:00am on Thursday 1/12/23).

  • Click on the 2023-2024 Enrollment image below to register your student (link will be activated on Monday, 2/13/23).  Registration must be completed before Friday, 3/10/23.
    • If your student currently attends Strongsville Early Learning Preschool on Lunn Road or at Chapman Elementary School, you will receive additional information from the Preschool regarding Kindergarten and do not need to register online. 

  • Upload the Required Documents (listed below) during registration. If you experience issues attaching the documents, you may email the documents to mcox@scsmustangs.org

For Half Day Kindergarten

  • Click on the 2023-2024 Enrollment image below to register your student (link will be activated on Monday, 2/13/23).  Registration must be completed before Friday, 3/10/23.
    • If your student currently attends Strongsville Early Learning Preschool on Lunn Road or at Chapman Elementary School, you will receive additional information from the Preschool regarding Kindergarten and do not need to register online. 

  • Upload the Required Documents (listed below) during registration. If you experience issues attaching the documents, you may email the documents to mcox@scsmustangs.org

Required Documentation
All of the appropriate items listed below must be provided in order to enroll your child. 

  • Certified birth certificate or baptismal certificate
    • If the student was not born in the US, a copy of the photo page from the student's and parents' Passport or green card should be provided.  Also, for the student, a copy of the VISA photo page and entry stamp should be submitted.
  • Proof of Residency - a current utility bill in the parent/guardian’s name (gas, electric, water, sewer, or cable), a lease signed by the parent/guardian and landlord, or a purchase agreement signed by the parent/guardian and seller. A cell phone bill is not acceptable.
    • If the parent/guardian does not have a utility bill in his/her name, a notarized residency affidavit (available for printing during online registration) and a utility bill from the person the parent/guardian is living with is required.
  • Immunization record 
  • Certified verification of legal custody/guardianship - If the child is not living with both biological parents, provide a certified copy of the Divorce Decree/Dissolution AND Shared Parenting Plan, if applicable; or provide a certified Judgment Entry showing custody.  A certified copy has a stamp showing it has been filed with the court and is signed by a judge.
