Mrs. Jamie Hrabnicky
Hello, I am Mrs. Hrabnicky
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. I will be your child’s reading teacher, and I am very excited to begin working in this brand new building. I want to make a positive difference in the life of every child in my classroom. My number one goal is to develop my students into independent lifelong learners who have a sense of responsibility for him/herself. I believe that every child can learn and will achieve to his/her potential. I expect every child to do his/her personal best and produce quality work. I want to help each student make good choices, show respect for him/herself and others, and accept responsibility for his/her actions. I can’t wait to see your child’s growth!
I would like to introduce myself. I am married to my wonderful husband Keith who is a teacher in North Olmsted. I have 3 boys ages 8,10 and 11. Yes, I am very busy!! I have a dog, Zoey, who is the love of my life. In my free time, I love to root on all the Cleveland sports teams and watch my boys play multiple sports. I also love to spend time with my family, read, garden, and travel.
I am a December 1999 graduate of the Kent State University where I received my undergraduate degree in education.. I have my masters degree in Reading from Baldwin Wallace College and a K-12 Reading Endorsement. I was lucky enough to get hired in Strongsville right out of college where I started at Drake teaching second grade. I have also taught at Surrarrer and Chapman before moving back to Drake for the last 7 years teaching 6th grade. I am really looking forward to my second year in the new Middle School teaching sixth grade Reading!
You can stay “in the loop” by signing up for the REMIND app and checking your child’s assignment notebook, as well as SMS website under the Vikings tab.. I feel that being both a parent and a teacher has provided me with a very strong belief in parent-teacher communication. Throughout the year please don’t hesitate to ask questions or address concerns. I look forward to a great year!
