Kindergarten is mandatory in Ohio. According to State Law and District policy, any child who becomes five years old on or before August 1, 2019 is eligible for admission into the Strongsville School District's Kindergarten program this August. Children turning 5 years of age after August 1st, 2019 but on or before December 31, 2019 must meet the requirements of the early entrance assessment to be permitted to attend kindergarten this fall. Testing will be held in April and May. Please register for the screening by calling 440-572-7015.1. Full-Day Kindergarten Request Form This link will become live at 8:00 AM on Friday, January 18, 2019 and submissions will be time stamped in the order received. Complete this form only if you want to register your child for Full-Day Kindergarten. Skip this step if you are registering your child for Half-Day Kindergarten.
2. Registration Packet
Beginning January 7th, registration information can be picked up at the elementary building closest to your home. This enrollment package contains information regarding kindergarten registration, information about Safety Town, school transportation and helpful hints you can use to prepare your child for Kindergarten.
3. Online Pre-Registration
Strongsville City Schools has implemented an online pre-registration program for the convenience of families with students new to our district. Pre Registration of your child may now be completed online from the comfort of home. This program increases the accuracy and efficiency of the registration process.4. In-Person RegistrationThis year registration will take place at the Administrative Office at 18199 Cook Avenue. Registration time will be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Dates for kindergarten registration are as follows:
Chapman Elementary Monday, March 18, 2019 Kinsner Elementary Tuesday, March 19, 2019 Muraski Elementary Wednesday, March 20, 2019 Surrarrer Elementary Thursday, March 21, 2019 Whitney Elementary Friday, March 22, 2019
Required DocumentationDuring the March enrollment process, parents must bring required documentation listed below:Student's Birth Certificate
Student's Immunization Records
Proof of Residency - One of the following: tax bill, mortgage coupon, gas, electric or sewer/water bill, insurance policy on dwelling, or a signed rental or purchase agreement
Verification of legal custody/guardianship (only if child is not living with both his/her natural parents): Certified Copy of Court Order or Court Appointed Guardianship
All of the appropriate items listed above must be provided in order to enroll your child.
