Eight Student Athletes will Continue Varsity Competition in College 
Strongsville, OH (May 2, 2016) - Strongsville High School student athletes from three sports - Girls Lacrosse, Boys Basketball, and Boys Baseball - recently announced their commitments to six local colleges and universities. These eight student athletes will continue their athletic and academic careers at the following colleges and universities:
 
Brie Martineau (Girls Lacrosse)

        Committed to Baldwin Wallace University

        Plans to major in Biology, minor in Neuroscience

        Pursuing a career as a Physician’s Assistant 

        Maintained a GPA over 3.5 throughout high school

        Awarded the “Trustee Scholarship” for Academics at Baldwin Wallace

Tyler Jamison (Boys Basketball)

        Committed to Capital University

        3-year letter winner

        This season averaged 7.1 points per game, 8 rebounds per game, and led the team with 55 blocks

Jonnie Hopkins (Boys Basketball)

        Committed to Muskingum University

        3-year letter winner

        This season averaged 9.1 points per game, 2 assists per game, and was second on the team with 32 three point baskets made

Jacob Yezbak (Boys Basketball)

        Committed to Capital University

        2-year letter winner

        This season averaged 11.1 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, and led the team with 40 three point baskets made

Caleb Homan (Boys Baseball)

        Committed to Lawrence Tech University

        2-year varsity pitcher

        Tossed a no-hitter vs. Brunswick

        4-1 record this season

Ian Hennessey (Boys Baseball)

        Committed to Baldwin Wallace University

        2-year varsity pitcher

        Tossed a no-hitter vs. Highlands (KY)

        4-0 record this season

        2 earned runs in 27 innings pitched this year

Michael Krupa (Boys Baseball)

        Committed to Lakeland Community College

        2-year varsity pitcher, both as a starter and reliever

        2-0 record this season

Sami Mehmed (Boys Baseball)

        Committed to Cuyahoga Community College

        2-year varsity starter at 2B & SS

        One of the top hitters on the team for the past two seasons

        Leadoff hitter for the Mustangs
