Announce College Commitments

Ten Student Athletes From Fall Sports

Will Continue Competition in College


Strongsville, OH (February 2, 2017) - Strongsville High School athletes from three fall sports - Football, Girls Soccer, and Boys Soccer - announced their commitments to seven colleges and universities yesterday during National Signing Day.


These ten student-athletes will continue their athletic and academic careers at the following colleges and universities:


Jared Anderson (Boys Soccer)

  • Committed to The Ohio State University

  • 4-year varsity letter winner

  • Set single season scoring record with 31 goals

  • Set career scoring record with 67 goals


Samantha Church (Girls Soccer)

  • Committed to Findlay University

  • 3-year varsity letter winner


Alex Gyerman (Boys Soccer)

  • Committed to Cleveland State University

  • 2-year varsity letter winner

  • Earned 10 wins and 5 shutouts as goalkeeper this season


Ben Hryszko (Boys Soccer)

  • Committed to Cleveland State University

  • 3-year varsity letter winner

  • 2016 Team MVP

  • 10th all-time at SHS for assists with 18


Peter Mocho (Football)

  • Committed to Walsh University

  • 2-year varsity letter winner

  • 2016 Team Captain

  • Honorable Mention All-Greater Cleveland Conference

  • Owns longest TD catch in SHS history (86 yards)


Megan Patrick (Girls Soccer)

  • Committed to Northern Kentucky University

  • 3-year varsity letter winner

  • 2016 Team Captain


Gabi Robilotta (Girls Soccer)

  • Committed to Walsh University

  • Club Soccer (CFC) Team Captain


Joe Talpas
(Football)

  • Committed to Alderson Broaddus University

  • 2-year varsity letter winner

  • Also throws shot/discus for SHS Track & Field


Miranda Thomas (Girls Soccer)

  • Committed to Wright State University

  • 2-year varsity letter winner


Madison Vancucha (Girls Soccer)

  • Committed to Findlay University

  • 3-year varsity letter winner
