Donate to “Excellence in Athletics” Campaign
$25,000 Donation from Strongsville City Club & $30,000 Donation from CFC
Presented to Board of Education During Last Evening’s Meeting
Strongsville, OH (March 17, 2017) - The Strongsville City Schools “Excellence in Athletics” Campaign received a $25,000 donation from Strongsville City Club and a $30,000 donation from Cleveland Futbol Club to further assist in the upgrades to the athletic facilities at Strongsville High School and Strongsville Middle School.
New synthetic turf playing fields at both Strongsville High School and Strongsville Middle School and an upgraded weight room at the high school are some of the improvements that have resulted out of this fundraising campaign.
Since October of 2015, the “Excellence in Athletics” fundraising campaign has received corporate and individual donation commitments totaling over $1.6 million. Contributing organizations include Serpentini Chevrolet, Southwest General Health Center, the Pat Catan family, Progressive Poured Walls, Shoreline Trucking, GPD Group, Strongsville Rotary Foundation, Triv's Restaurant, Hammond Construction, Strongsville Chamber of Commerce, Strongsville’s Athletic Booster Club, Strongsville’s Music Booster Club, Strongsville Lacrosse, Strongsville Soccer Organization, Strongsville Football League, Strongsville Instrumental Music Boosters, Chick-fil-A, the MAQ Center, Pro Sports Performance, Strongsville administration and Board members, and Strongsville PTA.
“The recent donations from both Strongsville City Club and Cleveland Futbol Club are two additional examples of the continuing community support for our students and the upgrades for our athletic facilities. The ‘Excellence in Athletics’ campaign has been very successful due to the generosity of community members and organizations such as the Strongsville City Club and Cleveland Futbol Club. Their donations will impact our District and students for years to come,” said Cameron Ryba, Strongsville City Schools Superintendent.
“The Strongsville City Club’s objective is to cultivate and promote civic interests for the city of Strongsville. Our donation to the ‘Excellence in Athletics’ campaign is a commitment to the future leaders in our community - Strongsville students. We appreciate this opportunity to contribute to the betterment of our community and our school district,” said Terry Toth, President of Strongsville City Club.
“Many of the players who have made a commitment to club soccer and to Cleveland Futbol Club are Strongsville students. We know they are talented athletes, but more importantly, they are also great representatives of the Strongsville community. We hope our contribution to the ‘Excellence in Athletics’ campaign continues to offer opportunities for students to grow and develop both on and off the competitive playing fields of their sports,” said Ulf Ryberg, Owner of Cleveland Futbol Club.
