Strongsville Middle School
Earns LEED Silver Certification
From United States Green Building Council

Strongsville, OH (July 2, 2018) - The United States Green Building Council recently announced that Strongsville Middle School has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.

This silver certification identifies Strongsville Middle School as a showcase example of sustainability, recognizing leadership in the building industry. LEED certification endorses building projects that have achieved the goal of creating highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings.

"We are proud that Strongsville Middle School has been recognized by the United States Green Building Council with LEED silver certification. Throughout the construction project our architecture partner, GPD Group, was focused on helping us design the very best learning environment for our students, as well as creating an environmentally friendly and efficient building. This dedicated effort to earn silver certification further assists our District in achieving the goal of financial prudence," said Cameron Ryba, Superintendent for Strongsville City Schools.

“GPD has long championed sustainable design and we are very proud to add Strongsville Middle School to the list of over 320 schools in Ohio that have achieved LEED Certification. This is especially important, because a school incorporating sustainable design provides more than a place for learning. It is a healthy environment that has a positive effect on students and staff alike,” said Rodwell King, Senior Project Manager, GPD Group.
