SCS Receives Grants Totaling More Than $3,500 from the Strongsville Education Foundation

The Strongsville Education Foundation recently approved five grants to support and enrich the learning and growth of students in our District. The grants include:

$380.00 for Kinsner Elementary for a Social Emotional Learning Library (to purchase books to teach social and emotional skills to students during classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling sessions, and individual counseling sessions, as well as for home use to increase exposure and depth of this type of learning)

$257.74 French and Spanish Art Movement (to integrate a cross-curricular lesson on art between the two cultures)

$800.00 for a Flexible Seating Grant at Surrarrer Elementary
(to promote active learning, allowing children to move around more freely in the learning environment, and improve overall self-esteem)

$500.00 for the Kinsner Elementary Camera Document Grant
(to provide kindergarten teachers access to document cameras in the classroom to better support modeling activities for students in multiple subjects)

$1,575.00 for a Loving Literacy Grant at Whitney Elementary
(to give at-risk students more changes to take home books at their exact reading level, to increase confidence with those students in reading, and to empower children in literacy)

We appreciate the support of the Foundation through grants, scholarships, and endowed funds, and their continued funding of annual field trips for students in grades K-8 and MakerSpaces in each of our schools. THANK YOU!
