Strongsville City Schools
Select New High School Principal

Mr. Bill Wingler Approved at Last Evening's Board of Education Meeting

Strongsville, OH (April 3, 2020) - Mr. Bill Wingler has been selected as the new Principal of Strongsville High School. Mr. Wingler was unanimously approved at last evening’s Board of Education Meeting.

Mr. Wingler is the current Principal of Brooklyn High School where he has served since 2017.  Before working in Brooklyn, he was a Principal of a K-8 school in Cleveland. Mr. Wingler worked as a special education teacher with the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities, as well as Bay Village prior to moving into administration.  In addition, Mr. Wingler has a psychiatric nursing background and is a registered nurse who continues to practice on an as needed basis. He is a Strongsville resident with students attending Strongsville City Schools.

The search began following the retirement announcement of current Strongsville High School Principal, Mr. Joe Mueller. After initial screening interviews, a select group of candidates interviewed with a representative panel of current Strongsville administrators, teachers, and staff. The final candidates recently participated in an open forum with Strongsville High School teachers, staff, and parents in our community.

“As a resident of Strongsville with children in the district, I couldn't be more excited to be joining the Strongsville High School team. I am honored to be chosen to be the Principal at Strongsville High School and to become a part of what is one of the best school systems in Ohio. I am looking forward to working collaboratively with the well respected staff in Strongsville City Schools and using my skill set from over eighteen years in education to support the needs of each individual student,” said Mr. Bill Wingler, newly selected Strongsville High School Principal.
