BOLO Sticks Have Been Installed in Every Classroom for Additional Lockdown Protection
Strongsville, OH (September 9, 2020) - Strongsville City Schools has received a donation from Clark-Reliance to support the purchase of BOLO Sticks for every classroom in the District. BOLO sticks are an added defense mechanism when the lockdown of classrooms is necessary to protect against unwanted threats and armed intruders. They are designed to provide an added layer of safety by reinforcing locked doors in the event of a school and/or classroom lockdown.
The approval and installation of these safety devices was also coordinated with the Strongsville Police and Strongsville Fire Departments as part of the District’s continued safety plan. The BOLO Sticks were installed during the summer and will be available in every classroom when students return for in person learning.
“Clark-Reliance is proud to be a part of the Strongsville community. We are thankful for the forward-thinking of Dr. Ryba and his staff, along with Chief Fender and the Strongsville Police Department, for the opportunity to help fund programs like this that provide safe learning spaces for our community's children,” said Mr. Christopher Doherty, Chief Information Officer for Clark-Reliance.
“We value our relationship with Clark-Reliance and appreciate their generous donation that helped to support the funding necessary to add the BOLO Stick safety devices to our classrooms. Our District is stronger because of community partners like Clark-Reliance and their willingness to contribute to the continued growth of Strongsville City Schools,” said Dr. Cameron Ryba, Superintendent of Strongsville City Schools.
