Strongsville City Schools Earn National Distinction
As “Best Communities for Music Education”
For Eighth Straight Year

One of Only 46 Districts in Ohio to Receive 2021 Award

Strongsville, OH (April 14, 2021) - Strongsville City Schools has been honored with the “Best Communities for Music Education” designation from The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. This is the eighth straight year the District has earned this distinction. Strongsville is one of 686 school districts nationwide to be recognized by NAMM, and one of just 20 school districts in Northeast Ohio to receive this prestigious award in 2021.

The “Best Communities for Music Education” designation recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of the curriculum. This designation recognizes and celebrates school districts for their support and exceptionally high commitment to music education, and for their efforts to assure access to music for all students as part of a well-rounded education. Districts earning this designation often set the bar in offering students access to comprehensive music education.

“We are very proud to be recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the ‘Best Communities for Music Education’ for the eighth straight year. We believe that Strongsville City Schools has one of the premier music programs in the area and this recognition is further validation of the opportunities we are providing students. We share this award with our teachers, students, parents, and the entire Strongsville community. All are a vital part of our successful music programs at Strongsville City Schools. We appreciate this support and recognize the importance and value of a strong, comprehensive music program,” said Dr. Cameron Ryba, Superintendent of Strongsville City Schools.

To qualify for the “Best Communities” designation, Strongsville City Schools answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs.
